Heyday Festival has just announced the delivery of a new budding program in photography/ film for youth!

Do you want to further your skills and build a career as a photographer and filmmaker?  Heyday Festival is now calling all young budding photographers/ filmmakers from the Cairns area to apply and take part in the Heyday Festival program.

Rebecca Claire Edwards, Photographer and Exhibitions Coordinator at Heyday Festival, says, “ Budding photographers are going to get a VIP access pass at Heyday Festival, be profiled through festival marketing and get a number of opportunities to document activities and events in the lead up to Heyday Festival. Training and practical opportunities are really important, as we want the participants to gain confidence, knowledge, skills and experience. Opportunities like these have strengthened my practice, advanced my career and led to paid work as a photographer.”

There are 10 places available in the program, and successful applicants will receive training through professional workshops, and hands-on festival experience.

Applications close Wednesday 20 June, at 11:30pm.
