Photographers everywhere!! This is for you!

The beginning of a new year is here, and to celebrate we are running a competition!

If you’re a budding photographer and are keen to get your work out there, or if you just love getting behind the camera to see what magic you can capture, we want to see it! Entry is FREE and includes the four following categories:

• Your Community
• Arts Industry
• Young People
• Youth Art

Pick one of these categories and get snapping! Every entry will be profiled through the Youth Arts Queensland Facebook page with your name next to it allowing for some great exposure of your creations! The winner will receive a profesional canvas print of their work  to take home, a feature on the Youth Arts Queensland website including joining the home page scrolling buttons, 12 months membership to YAQ and an interview in the YAQ enewsletter.

Entries will be judged on creativity, interpretation of category and technical quality. You are welcome to enter with previously taken photos, but make sure they’re connected to one of the categories.

Entry details

Simply send an email to info@yaq.org.au with your image attached. In the body of the email state:

• Your name
• Your age (entries are limited to ages 14-30yrs)
• Which category you have chosen
• Your contact number

Entries open on Wednesday 11 January and close on Friday 10 February 2012. The announcement of the winner will be Wednesday 15 February and profiling of all entries will take place on the YAQ facebook page throughout February.

Please ensure the image you email as your entry is less that 5MB (72 dpi is great too) but keep a copy of the larger file size and higher resolution as we will potentially need it to create your winning canvas.

Terms and Conditions

• Entrant to be aware that the winning entry will be cropped in order to fit image specifications for scrolling image on website, but will retain full size for the canvas – 16″ by 20″
• Entrants must be aged between 14 – 30yrs old
• Entrants are restricted to entering just one image
• If photographing human subjects, full permission for online use must be permitted, in writing, before submitting. YAQ will supply photo release form if requested.
• Youth Arts Queensland request that all entrants agree to submit their entry under Creative Commons CC BY 2.0, granting Youth Arts Queensland the right to use images for use on YAQ website, social media, exhibitions and promotions with full attribution to the photographer. However, if requested at the time of entry, the photographer may retain all copyright to their image submitted but grant rights for Youth Arts Queensland to use the entry for publication on the Youth Arts Queensland website, in exhibitions and promotions related to the Youth Arts Queensland photography contest ONLY for up to 18 months following the contest
• Submission of an entry to the contest automatically constitutes the contestant’s acceptance of all conditions set forth in the above rules.
