Amy Robinson
Arts Marketer
Brisbane
Mentor: Bronwyn Klepp
In 2008, Amy plans to work hard to develop a sustainable career in arts marketing and public relations. Last year, Amy gained valuable experience in festivals, having worked as the Development Coordinator with Queensland Music Festival and as Marketing and Publicity Coordinator for Backbone's 2007 2high Festival. Amy particularly enjoyed writing various publicity materials in order to gain media coverage for 2high. However, the most rewarding part of being involved with QMF and 2high was undoubtedly experiencing the energy and excitement of both festivals.
Amy is currently completing her final semester of a Bachelor of Mass Communications (Public Relations and Journalism) at the Queensland University of Technology and is looking forward to graduating in July. She has also recently been appointed as Marketing Officer for the Brisbane Powerhouse.
Through YAMP, Amy hopes to focus on developing her public relations portfolio. She hopes to broaden her experience in the arts industry by doing a project for Playlab, which will move her beyond her previous experiences in music and festivals. Amy hopes YAMP will give her the edge she needs to become a key player in the increasingly competitive arts marketing industry.
