Jonathan McBurnie
Visual Artist
Brisbane
Mentor: Roderick Bunter
Jonathan McBurnie is a visual artist. He is 24 and enjoys long walks on the beach with robotic dogs and exotic, interstellar holidays. Jonathan is fairly tall, and bumps his head a lot. Jonathan always finds leaves and figs in his hair. Jonathan's primary medium is drawing, although he is known to use other media, including painting, collage, photography and karaoke. Jonathan often stays in his studio for many weeks at a time, shunning the outside world, shrieking Walter Benjamin quotes at his neighbors through barred windows, living on dried pasta and coffee beans. Jonathan is using YAMP as a way of interacting with other creative people, which he enjoys because he feels it is important to interact with other sentient beings than dogs and robots. Jonathan's mentor is Rod Bunter. Jonathan likes Rod because he is a bit of a ratbag, and his art is very rad. Jonathan and Rod are planning a collaborative exhibition. Look to the skies!
