Mariam Arcilla is a Gold Coast based curator, artist and writer who intends to use her placement in the YAMP 2008 program to embark on projects that establish new exhibition avenues for emerging artists, particularly in the Gold Coast sector. Under the guidance of established art curator Lorraine Pilgrim Mariam will be taking on the Gallery Director role at 19 Karen Contemporary Artspace, as well as further promoting Queensland emerging artists via her artist-run initiative 'tinygold.' Mariam has been featrured on ABC Radio, Electrofringe New Media Festival, Metro Arts, Triple J Radio/ The Program, UV Magazine and The Weekend Bulletin. She holds a First Class BA Hons and Creative Arts degree from Griffith University.
