Mentor: Elliott Dalgleish

After studying jazz saxophone at the Conservatorium of Music for 3 years, Scott went onto to perform and record regularly in Brisbane and interstate both solo, and with various other musicians. Primarily a practitioner of the saxophone but also dealing with keyboards and electronics, he has been developing rapidly in his sonic artistry through constant practice, performing, recording and touring. Scott contributes on a regular basis to the cutting edge music community on a curatorial/organizational level primarily with the Audiopollen Social Club and Collage Planning collectives. His groups Ear Beard, Heart Juice and Sugar Logic are made up of many of the most exciting young improvisers in Brisbane.

In 2008 Scott enters a mentorship as part of the Young Artist Mentoring Program with master saxophonist Elliot Dagleish (National Jazz Award -Saxophone-1995 and member of the Australian Art Orchestra). In this mentorship Scott will be working with Elliot to develop his abilities as a saxophonist and improviser. They will be performing a number of times and recording an album together.
