Simone Pitot

Singer/Songwriter
Greater Brisbane

Mentor: Caleb James

Simone Pitot is a songwriter/bloodhound hunting a dead man. Simone also uses her human container to sing. In fact, some say, she is 'the female Jeff Buckley' (Soma Singer-Songwriter Competition, 2007). After teaching guitar in an all-girl rock program for 5 years, Simone decided to write some folkie tunes and thrust them on the wider public. Fairly recently, Simone completed a Performer's Certificate in Opera/Classical Voice (Trinity College Guildhall). So there was Puccini and then there was the Regional Arts Development Council and the Young Artists' Mentoring Program who were kind enough to sponsor Simone to complete a 9-month mentorship with renowned producer, Caleb James. Simone will spend the 9 months with Caleb honing her song writing to develop the mind-suburb to a mind-city. She will also be recording an EP with Caleb in October.

Simone would love to meet you, the reader, at one of her gigs. If you would like to find out when/where/what they are, visit www.myspace.com/simonepitot
