Rose Staff is a New Media visual artist and performer. Her practice explores the realms of time based digital art, video projection installations and print media. With a background in Fine Arts, she has had her works exhibited across the South Eastern Queensland and Northern New South Wales over the last 7 years. Her performances are often an exploration into the terrain of multilayered hybrid images that interplay with our sensors, incorporating the viewer as an active participant in the creation of the work.

Rose embarked upon the first of her formal training at Southern Cross University Studying a BA in Visual Arts. Upon completion of this program she continued her passion for innovative approaches to visual arts discourse by undertaking the BA Visual Media program offered at Queensland College of the Arts (QCA). After graduating from university Rose’s recent work has experimented with the fields of visual perception, motion and light.

In 2009 Rose will undertake a Mentorship with Stephen Danzig offered through YAMP, where she hopes to learn about all aspects of developing a professional practice in the arts. She will also be creating a new body of work under the guidance of the mentorship which will be displayed at the YAMP showcase.
